What technical support can I receive during the Benchmark WaterGov?

You can receive specialized technical support from the Benchmark WaterGov team throughout all phases of the process, including organization and mobilization, diagnosis, action plan definition, action plan implementation, and support on its execution. This support includes initial training, ongoing assistance, clarification of doubts, and specialized technical advice. The support team consists of experts from LIS-Water and the IDB, where applicable.

What team do I need to assign to implement the Benchmark WaterGov?

The process requires a dedicated team mandated by top management. This team should include a coordinator and co-coordinator, who will serve as the primary contact points with the Benchmark WaterGov team throughout the process. Additionally, a multidisciplinary working group should be organized, involving representatives from various departments within the organization.

How is the reliability of the results ensured?

Several mechanisms are in place to ensure the reliability of the results. The Benchmark WaterGov team reviews and analyzes the responses to each question, as well as the supporting documents or links, verifying their consistency. In some cases, local experts may be requested to assist in the review and validation process. It should be noted that the evaluation aims to minimize possible subjectivity through three means: 1. Inclusion of verification means for the responses, 2. Support from local experts, and 3. Meetings between the regulator's working group and the Benchmark WaterGov team to provide support on the self-assessment process.

Who can I benchmark with?

The entity can compare its results with the Benchmark WaterGov reference model built on international best practices and with other entities and countries that have also applied the Bechmark WaterGov.
